Description
Essential Job Function:
•Retrieves and returns die to proper storage location.
•Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications, using feelers, shims, templates, bolts, clamps, and wrenches.
•Adjusts ram stroke to specified length.
•Locates, prepares and loads material required to produce required parts.
•Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
•Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
•Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges or templates, and adjusts machine to correct errors.
•Inspects or uses gauges on parts to maintain dimensions.
•Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality records.
•Maintains accurate counts of parts; attaches labels or tags to finished part containers identifying customer, part number, quantity and shop order information.
•Utilizes the data collection system to accurately record production activities including time spent, quantity produced and any rejected parts.
Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of related manufacturing education or work experience. Blueprint reading and shop mathematics skills are desired.
Physical Demand:
•Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
•Exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently.
