What you can expect in this position:
Participates in the recovery of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and skin tissue for transplantation from postmortem donors using surgical instruments
Cultures, wraps and labels recovered tissues
Cleans operating room, supplies and equipment following recoveries
Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling
On average, a case can take four to five hours
You need:
Knowledge of basic anatomy
Working knowledge of medical terminology
A high school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of operating room (OR) experience as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Assistant preferred
Access to a vehicle and a valid Wisconsin Driver's License as this role requires travel
Flexibility and dedication for handling a demanding, irregular schedule under pressure to meet deadlines
Schedule:
Weekends - Friday 7pm-Sunday at 12pm
You will know your schedule a month in advance
Up to 2 weekends a month.
