Qualifications and Skills Needed

Gertens is looking for an individual with Accounting, Finance, Business, or related background and training. Students working toward or completing Business or Agricultural related degrees are preferred to fill the internship position. Qualified candidates should be analytical, motivated, and have strong communication skills along with a desire to learn and grow.

Desired majors, Class Level

Areas of study including but not limited to Accounting, Finance, or Business and working towards Bachelors, Associate or Certificates are acceptable. Interns may be enrolled as sophomore through post graduate.

Responsibility

Accounting

Prepare, analyze, and review general ledger account reconciliations as part of the month-end closing process.

Support projects and process improvement opportunities related to process efficiencies and standardization

Accounts Payable

Complete processing of vendor invoices and payments

Vendor statement reconciliations

Vendor master data maintenance

Accounts Receivable

Reconcile daily cash receipts

Prepare, post, and verify customer payments

Prepare bank deposits

Assist in monthly customer deposit statement

Individual Intern Project with presentation sharing knowledge gained and benefits of the internship experience and project results.

Scheduling Hours:

Intern will work up to 40 hours per week. Monday- Friday

Internship Duration:

May-August 2025

Compensation:

Paid position. Housing accommodations are not provided.
