Job Profile SummaryUnder general direction, this position supports department technical operations by performing a variety of professional and analytical duties to support short and long term reporting and analysis goals. Assist with requirement gathering, data verification, design, testing and report creation to ensure end-user needs are met. Determines how best to meet data processing and analysis requirements/needs. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:Associate's degree. Bachelor's degree in an analytical field, such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or social sciences strongly preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Minimum Experience/Training:
Four years of experience in data extraction and validation, statistical analysis, reporting writing, and making presentations in related field, preferably in a higher education setting in which conducting data analysis and reporting findings is/was the primary function; the experience includes statistical software, i.e. SPSS, SAS, STATA and/or other statistical software (not including spreadsheet packages); and, experience with database software, i.e. SAS, Access, SQL, Paradox, dBase and/or other database software.Essential Functions:
Daily -15%: Develops and maintains certification and reconciliation procedures for the purpose of managing the accuracy of data required for local, state, and federal reporting.Daily -10%: Imports retrieved data into various computer-based tools, such as databases and spreadsheets, and performs advanced analysis, identifies trends, verifies data validity and recommends procedural changes.Other, as Needed- 10%: Participates/attends meetings and conferences with vendors and other colleges to assist in the establishment of technical procedures required to apply functional changes to the state reporting system.Daily -10%: Performs data analysis, data verification and imports retrieved data into various computer-based tools, such as databases and spreadsheets.Daily -10%: Performs longitudinal studies and demographic/geographic data analysis which includes gathering and synthesizing information and data applicable to the study.Daily -10%: Creates procedures to automate routine periodic functions to import, export and analyze data.Daily -10%: Collaborates with various departments to translate business requirements into data objects and develops prototypes for end-user evaluation.Daily -10%: Prepares reports, documentation, and related materials outlining research results; includes evaluating, organizing, verifying and extrapolating data.Other, as Needed -5%: Designs and develops electronic workflow processes to facilitate the delivery of information.Daily -5%: Identifies and documents information access needs in conjunction with data owners to stay in compliance with privacy and security regulations.Other, as Needed -5%: Performs related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
