Bennett Thrasher ("BT") has an opening for a

Tax Staff .This individual will be working as part of a team and utilizing resources to add value to clients, they assists with all stages of the preparation process for tax compliance engagements.

Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently prepares partnership, S Corporation and individual tax returns and utilizes feedback to prevent from repeating errorsPrepares income tax projections and estimate calculations for clientsConducts research, analysis, development and summarization of financial informationAnalyzes accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standardsMaintains and organizes client files in accordance with firm standardsDevelops effective working relationships with clients and firm associatesEngages in professional communication with clients under supervision of Managers and SeniorsCommunicates with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner when applicableSupports Interns in professional developmentCommits to team environment and supports firm decisionsMaintains open communication with management regarding the progress of completion on projectsUses critical thinking to investigate client financials and fix any discrepanciesParticipates actively in training and developmental opportunitiesQualifications:

Undergraduate degree required, Master's preferred (150 hour requirement threshold should be satisfied or a specific plan in place)Actively studying and preparing for the CPA certification if not already obtainedAdvanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements is requiredDemonstrates appropriate understanding of financial reporting including Firm, FASB, GASB, AICPA accounting and auditing standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong commitment to professional and client service excellenceProven time management, organizational and prioritization skills
