Job Description:

The Financial Reporting group provides internal and external clients with assistance related to the annual audits and/or SEC filings across a diverse set of investment company types.Responsible for the preparations and reviews of fund financial statements in a timely manner while also ensuring accuracy and quality of the reports.The group provides assistance to audit firms in the processes and procedures associated with their annual fund audits for both the registered and non-registered fund base, as well as ensuring the timely and accurate filing of some SEC forms.The group is currently looking for a Sr. Consultant who possesses experience and expertise in the matters of U.S. GAAP, SEC filings and has deep working knowledge of derivatives.Review of staff preparation of fund financial statements and schedules of investments as well as coordination and drafting of the notes to the financial statements for annual and semiannual shareholder reports for registered and non-registered funds.Assist with management of the day-to-day operations of clients, including the organization of reporting cycles.Assist with management of fund and audit/client cycle deadlines to ensure deliverables are met and completing reviews to ensure accurate and timely filings.Technical resource for staff regarding questions related to new investment/derivative products, financial statement preparation questions and auditor questions.Qualifications:

Degree in accounting or CPA preferredDetailed knowledge of financial statements, and prior experience in review thereofGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP), including such topics as ASC 815 & 820Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage deadlinesAbility to make difficult decisions and work with limited supervisionAbility to work in a fast paced environment and manage ambiguity and complexityStrong performer with high standards of integrity & work ethic6 - 8+ years of recent experience in: Financial Reporting group in asset management / financial services industry or Public Accounting in asset management / financial services industry3+ years of supervisory or management experienceAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft productsKnowledge of Global InvestOne, Bloomberg and financial reporting systems a plusRecent experiences in Financial reporting for funds (1940 Act registered mutual funds, private funds, collective/common trust) managed by investment companies.Public Accounting/Audit in asset management industry.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
