Senior Underwriter, Casualty Reverse Flow

We are hiring a Senior Underwriter, Casualty Reverse Flow, who will be responsible for Casualty Underwriting assigned commercial book of business. It will utilize underwriting tools and guidelines, rating manual rules and insurance laws and regulations. The applicant will be taking over a book of business and handling current and new accounts independently from quoting to issuance.
Responsibilities
Work on accounts with varying complexity to rate, quote, and issue local Liability US policies for Foreign based companies, independently evaluate the exposure and calculate the premium.Provide effective and efficient account review and guidance to home office/producing offices.Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers, clients, home office and producing offices as required. This includes data and risk information collection, and processing of new and renewal business.Reviews applications and financial requirements for risks requiring complex underwriting skills. Determines acceptability of risk in accordance with company guidelines and standards. Determines appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis in line with compliance requirements.Prepares quotes and answers questions from agents, policyholders, home office/producing office or other external contacts and escalates issues to management along with proposed solutions, as necessary.Negotiates with agents to reach positive and profitable outcomes.Keeps current on state issues and regulations, industry activity and trends and freely shares information with others.Maintains advanced functionality with regards to relevant systems to perform day to day activitiesWorks with senior underwriters and management on risks exceeding authority level or requiring special handling.Requirements
5+ years of experience in Casualty UnderwritingKnowledge of GL, Umbrella, Excess wording, and underwriting tools like ISO and IRMI, to take over and independently handle an established book of business.Strong attention to detail while managing large amounts of information.
