FMR Equity is a wholly owned subsidiary of FMR LLC that provides investment management services to clients through Fidelity's distribution channels. With over $850 billion in assets under management, the FMR Equity team of investment professionals evaluates, constructs and manages investment portfolios for millions of fund shareholders.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director of Research, the Medical Technologies Research Analyst will perform fundamental equity research on a number of stocks, providing investment ideas for the portfolios and contributing to the investment performance of the firm. This position is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Qualifications

The role requires a well-rounded professional who possesses an understanding of investment research and the investment process. Interested candidates are required to have at least 4 years of finance-related experience (buy- or sell-sell research, private equity, investment banking, etc.) in the Medical Technologies space. A bachelor's degree is required and an advanced degree in science is a strong plus.

Primary ResponsibilitiesMaintaining coverage of stocks within the Medical Technologies sector.Tracking, analyzing, and interpreting trends within the space, and applying findings to recommendations that conform to the group's various investment approaches and strategies.Generating proprietary fundamental analysis of the sector, the industry, the companies, and the stocks within your scope of coverage.Creating detailed financial projections for companies and developing valuation analysis on stocks.Meeting with top management of companies, industry experts, sell-side analysts and experienced colleagues.Articulating clearly to portfolio managers, the Managing Director of Research, and other equity analysts the rationale supporting your investment recommendations.Interacting regularly with portfolio managers and other associates as a valued contributor within an environment where initiative, teamwork, excellent technical capabilities and effective communication skills will be essential to your success.The Skills You Bring

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
