office to join our growing geoenvironmental and geotechnical practice on the Florida Treasure Coast. This position is well-suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in being a hi-level contributor to innovative and challenging projects involving the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) and the Indian River Lagoon-South project to support the health of the St. Lucie Estuary and the Indian River Lagoon along Florida's Treasure Coast. The opportunity involves large scale water storage and treatment through construction of stormwater treatment area (STA) and reservoir complex with a network of conveyance waterways and structures. Seeking the right person with passion for the environment and both the desire and skill to oversee construction of a large-scale civil earthworks project to help reduce the rate of harmful flows to downstream estuaries and improve water quality in the lagoon.The position will assist with the inspection of construction materials delivery, storage, handling and placement, borrow material excavation, land clearing and grubbing, dewatering system installation and operation, dust controls, oversight of construction quality control and performance of quality assurance sampling and testing, provide neat, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of field-related activities and reporting to senior level project personnel; in addition to providing additional field and office support to the Construction Manager. The role requires the ability to comprehend construction plans and specifications and a strong willingness to perform extensive fieldwork. We offer competitive pay and benefits, and well-being programs to support you and your family.To Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform field and on-site laboratory tests on soil, geosynthetics, aggregates, and other materials primarily associated civil construction;Observe, inspect, monitor and document construction activities to assure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g., technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans etc.);Provide CQA monitoring on several types of construction activities;Prepare daily and weekly field reports, testing schedules, meeting minutes & progress reports;Assure project documentation is completed timely, accurately and consistently with company policy & procedures;Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers & clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings;Assist in the preparation of the filed reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices; andObserve and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the companys Health and Safety Management policies and procedures.Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

High School diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of applicable experience, an Associate degree/college diploma (preferred) and a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience, or a Bachelors degree in science, construction management, engineering, physical science, environmental science, or related subjects and a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience. (required)Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, including survey and topographical drawings. (required)Experience ensuring field activities comply with construction plans and specifications and the ability to monitor several different types of activities simultaneously. (required)Experience with the operation of industry typical monitoring and data collection equipment, including but not limited laptop and handheld computers, Troxler moisture /density gauges, scales, and other equipment. (required)Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air (preferred).Practical field experience conducting operation and maintenance of mechanical systems including simple troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems. (preferred)Exposure with heavy civil earthwork, large scale construction and earthmoving, and construction of dikes, dams, levees, and water control structures (preferred).Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs and use of laptops and/or tablet computers. (required)Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic. (required)Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls. (required)Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (required)Regular field work. (required)Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
