Construction Materials Testing Special Inspector

is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision.

What you'll do:Operate, maintain and calibrate testing equipment and conduct soil and/or concrete testing and provide an assessment of data through reportingUtilize drawings, specifications and diagramsRead and interpret plans and specificationsUse specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks and complex assignmentsMake detailed observations, give interpretation of results, maintain detailed documentation and data from test resultsCommunicate effectively with client and project teams and attend project meetingsThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

5 years' special inspection and/or construction materials testing experienceValid driver's license and reliable driving record is requiredAbility to travel up to 25%Ability to work off shifts and overtimeAbility to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistanceAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in soundAbility to kneel and squat occasionallyAbility to walk and stand for long periods of timeAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperaturesAbility to climb occasionally, and work at various heightsPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalentACI Certifications: Level 1 or Concrete Construction Special InspectorPTI Certifications: Post-Tension Inspector Level 1 & 2ICC Certifications: Reinforcing Steel Inspector, Reinforced Concrete Masonry Inspector, or Soil Inspector
