(BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.
What are we looking for?
As a
Steel Fabrication Specialist/Welder
you will be responsible for the construction (welding/fabrication) and dismantling of steel mock-up test chambers. This position will travel as business needs indicate.
Shift/Schedule:
Monday - Friday core business hours (may vary slightly)
What you'll do:Follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policiesProvide exceptional customer serviceBuild mock-up steel structure test chambers to blueprintsDemo mock-up steel structure test chambersSmall, intermediate, and large-scale specimen preparationWork with the Project Manager, technicians, and clients to ensure the preparation of all project details are complete to satisfactionMaintain tools, equipment, and work area in a neat, organized mannerPerform miscellaneous construction as requiredOperate equipment (pursuant to documented training) as directed (e.g., bucket truck, forklifts, etc.)This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in SMAW Welding/fabrication2+ years of experience in Steel torch cuttingMust have a complete knowledge of all equipment and tools used in the completion of dutiesAbility to understand construction layoutAbility to work off man lifts (boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc)Ability to operate forklifts, lulls, etcAbility to read and understand chamber drawings and build accordinglyAbility to lift 75lbsA reasonable understanding of curtain wall systemsAbility to travel as business needs dictateA valid driver's license and reliable driving record is requiredPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
