Under the direction of a Tissue Recovery Coordinator, the Tissue Recovery Technician (TRT) will be responsible for the recovery of bone, skin, and cardiovascular tissue. You will maintain a thorough knowledge of human anatomy, demonstrate excellent aseptic and tissue recovery techniques, maintain a low surgical error rate, and follow all FDA GTP (Good Tissue Practice) and AATB (American Association of Tissue Banks) standards. Additionally, the TRT will work closely with the Office of the Medical Examiner, hospital, funeral home, and other agency staff as directed by the Tissue Recovery Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training/Education/Certification:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMedical background - RN, LPN, M.A., O.R. tech, mortician, Tissue Bank Specialist preferredExperience Required:
Minimum 6 months of a related medical backgroundPreferred experience 1-2 yearsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields preferredUnderstanding of the operating room environment preferredExcellent public relations and interpersonal abilitiesSolid oral and written communication skillsAttentive to detail and able to maintain accurate recordsAble to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings and within the differing guidelines of each institutionWorks well under stressful conditions, and when asked to work long hours if neededAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to stoop, squat, or bend frequentlyExposure to patient elements including communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical settingAbility to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
