Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Director of Finance and Accounting to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by C-Suite and the BOD.
Accountant Job Responsibilities:
Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties in accordance with accounting best practices and procedures.
Manages the payroll journal entries, including reconciliations and month-end accruals.
Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.
Prepare financial reports, such as budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and assist with external audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of requested documentation and information.
Mentor and oversee junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting GAAP experience.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environments.
