We are seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. You'll be responsible for providing first-line support for end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. You will also provide timely and effective resolution of IT-related problems. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of hands on experience in a help desk or technical support role, with the vast majority being in a face-to-face setting.Candidates for this role must be local or comfortable commuting to the Reston, VA area on a daily basis Monday-Friday each week.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and maintain Windows operating systems, including updates, patches, and security configurations. Support VDI environments to ensure seamless user experience.Track and manage support tickets using ServiceNow ticketing system. Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff as needed.Provide guidance and training to end-users on best practices for using IT systems and software. Develop user guides and training materials as needed.Key Qualifications:1-2 years of hands-on experience in a help desk or technical support roleProficiency in Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11 preferred).Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.Familiarity with endpoint management and monitoring tools (Tanium preferred)Strong experience using ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred)Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must have the bility to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus but not required.
