Overview:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the month end close process, including reviewing various accounts (accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, payables, etc.), and consolidating and performing various analytics. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the daily treasury function, including transferring funds and analyzing spend. As we are a public company, this position is responsible for maintaining internal controls and working directly with the external auditors. The AR Accountant and AP clerk report into this position. This role also has a dotted line reporting to the Controller.Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the daily operations of the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processesMaintain accurate and complete financial records in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirementsReview journal entries and account reconciliations for corporate functions, including accruals, fixed assets, prepaids, payables, etc.Establish, document and maintain proper accounting policies, processes and proceduresManage treasury duties including but not limited to adequately maintaining appropriate cash levels, intercompany funding, liquidity management, process and review daily and weekly cash disbursementsDevelop and implement appropriate policies and procedures levels for cash management and treasury operationsManage the procure to pay process and implement efficiencies as needed, responding promptly and thoroughly to the evolving needs of the businessWork with Finance and Finance Leadership to enhance cash forecasting and modelingPrepare certain financial statement disclosuresDevelop and manage direct reportsPerform ad hoc financial analysis and lead and/or support special projects as requiredPrepare support and documentation for external auditorsMaintain strong internal controls and recommend improvements to controls as neededQualifications:Bachelors degree in AccountingCPA preferred, not requiredSOX 404 experience preferred, not required5+ years of experience in AccountingExperience in Public Accounting preferredHigh level understanding of GAAP and internal controls - Sarbanes OxleyAdvanced skills in ExcelCompetencies: Analytical skills, Attention to detail, Organizational skills, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Time Management, Independent Judgement, Interpersonal Communication skills, Adaptability, People ManagementWorking ConditionsPosition may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary, to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel.This is a hybrid role based in Xeris Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.
