Job Summary:

Assists in the investigation of cases of fraud involving use of electronic/cyber systems, debit and credit cards, new accounts, account abuse, check forgery, elder abuse, check kiting, identity theft and the like. Analyzes various reports to identify and limit potential fraudulent actions on member accounts.

Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for processing actionable alerts/fraud notifications and conducting research into these alerts as needed.Analyze and validate Identity Theft claims and other fraud claims as they arise.Review membership information and identification documents when there are discrepancies or irregularities, to determine the validity of information or obtain support to accept the deposit.Review accounts and transactions for fraudulent activity and take appropriate action, such as restricting an account, to prevent fraud losses.Assist members that are the victim of a scam/account compromise in order to resolve issues and safeguard their account.Accurately record data and remarks in core system and analytic software system used to record/document investigations.Prepare member correspondence related to outcome of investigation.Keep abreast of current fraud trends in the financial services industry as well as different types of fraud schemes.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Requirements:

2 years of prior Credit Union or Banking experiencePrior Fraud or Loss Prevention experience preferredStrong analytical skillsEffective communication skills
