Trade Control and Risk Analyst

to join its Houston-based team, supporting its global energy trading operations. In this role, you will oversee control and reporting functions across both European and US markets, ensuring effective management of procurement, hedging performance, and comprehensive risk control measures (covering market, credit, and cash risk). You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with strict trade control frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, and managing trade control systems such as Allegro, Horizon, and FEA.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure a robust trading control environment, adhering to policies and maintaining appropriate resources and skill sets.Lead or support systems for exposure management and management information (MI) systems.Manage trade control systems such as Allegro, Horizon, and FEA to ensure accurate exposure management.Ensure timely settlement of paper trading activity and correct profit allocation to profit centers.Supervise daily/weekly/monthly trading exposure, profit and loss reporting, and KPI calculations, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.Collaborate with Finance to reconcile management information with financial accounts and address any discrepancies.Set up new exposure management or entrepreneurial trading books as required by the business.Support new business activities by ensuring trade control and risk aspects are addressed in the assurance process.Provide risk analysis to assess new trading strategies, trading limits, neutral stocks, and other business risks.Provide Mid Office leadership in Houston, coordinating with traders, business development, finance, and schedulers.Act as the focal point for interaction between office functions and international teams.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, STEM, or a related field.Proven experience in trading control or risk management, ideally within the oil/gas commodities trading industry.Previous team leadership experience is preferred.Strong understanding of oil/gas commodities trading, including markets, products, exchanges, and risk management.Familiarity with trading risk management, control, and assurance processes.Knowledge of accounting procedures, including accrual and mark-to-market accounting.Skills & Knowledge Required:

Ability to challenge sensitive issues constructively while maintaining strong working relationships.Maintain close contact with international teams and leadership.Proactively identify and communicate potential issues to relevant stakeholders.Versatile and collaborative team player with the ability to work across functions.High energy levels, hands-on approach, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong people skills for interaction with both executive-level and technical contacts.Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
