A key Optimus client and leading renewable energy company is looking for a

Risk Manager

with Renewables experience in wholesale power markets in US and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the company's Energy Management activities to ensure adherence to trading policies, limits, and internal controls.Provide daily reports and analyze key metrics such as P&L, net position, and Value at Risk (VaR) for trading, finance, and management teams.Develop and maintain energy risk management policies, processes, and procedures.Verify trades, positions, and prices in the company's Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) system (Allegro Horizon).Conduct daily and monthly reconciliation in collaboration with Front Office and Back Office teams.Participate in development and implementation projects aimed at enhancing and automating internal controls, metrics, and technology systems.Manage daily collateral postings with the ICE futures exchange and ISOs (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO).Assist in the contracting and confirmation process for ISDA and EEI master agreements related to bilateral sales of power and Renewable Attributes (RECs, carbon offsets, etc.).Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, or a related quantitative or commercial field.Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commodity risk management, compliance, or trading.Knowledge of US power or natural gas markets, with a preference for familiarity with renewables markets in ERCOT and CAISO.Experience with ETRM systems such as Allegro Horizon, OpenLink, or Aligne.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Advanced numerical and analytical skills to interpret and understand risk management metrics and reports.High attention to detail and accuracy.A proactive and collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new challenges is essential for this high-profile role.
