CONTROLLERSThe mission of Controllers is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. As part of the firms second line of defense, Controllers provides the critical analysis required while ensuring the internal and external financial information of the firm is accurate. Additionally, Controllers serves an important role in safeguarding the assets of the firm through the independent scrutiny of financial information. Controllers engages regularly with the firms regulators and auditors and through its strong culture of control and challenge helps to protect the firm from reputational and other risks.RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:SEC Financial Reporting is a sub-group within Financial Reporting responsible for preparing the firms quarterly and annual SEC filings (i.e.: 10-Q, 10-K). The team interfaces with global Product Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers (LECs), Funding Controllers, Accounting Policy, Legal and other constituents in order to ensure that reporting requirements are satisfied. In addition, the team reports on peer firms quarterly results, key financial metrics and other disclosures.

Principal Responsibilities:The Associates areas of responsibility will include the preparation of the firms quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnotes, XBRL filings, financial statement review packages and other relevant information, as well as evaluating and reporting on peer firms quarterly results, key financial metrics and other disclosures. The Associate will act as a liaison between LECs, Product Controllers, Management Reporting, Accounting Policy and other internal departments in order to ensure that reporting requirements are satisfied. The Associate will also be responsible for providing guidance to LECs and Product Controllers on quarter end processes. The Associate will be involved in projects with various departments such as working with Investor Relations to provide input on presentations, implementing procedures to comply with new FASB pronouncements, updating policies and procedures, system integrations, and proposing improvements and efficiencies to existing reporting processes. The Associate will also identify development areas and propose solutions aimed at improving the process by which information is collected, analyzed, and controlled.

Experience/Skills:Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)Familiarity with financial filings and disclosures, particularly those of financial services firms.3-6 years relevant work experience (preferably with a public accounting or financial services firm)Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong analytical and organizational skillsDetail orientedAbility to lead a team and run projectsSelf-starter with ability to work in a fast paced environment under challenging deadlinesWorking knowledge of consolidation and reporting systems
