POSITION SUMMARY:

The B-Shift Supervisor works as a Set-up Technician preparing processes for injection molding machines and sets up other equipment for assembly. Outside of set-up work, they oversee the production activities and staff on a daily basis. This person must have a thorough knowledge of the plastic molding process to be able to maintain or adjust equipment to ensure production specifications. The Set-up Technician must have good problem solving skills and works closely with the material handlers, quality assurance and operators.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Lead a team of 5 - 10 employees for B-Shift Plastics, 3 PM to 11:30 PM, M - FResponsibilities include diagnosing small engine problems, maintaining shop area cleanliness, and collecting and disposing of trash.Clearly explain (if called upon) to the customer's satisfaction the diagnosis and repair of the machine in question.Continually seek both technical and product training when available.Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, improve and promote quality, and monitor own work to ensure quality.Observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.Treat management and other employees with respect and contribute to building a positive team spirit.Follow instructions and promptly respond to management direction.Work with integrity, always upholding company values.Mold set-upTroubleshoot, process adjustments. Document adjustment and resultsAssist with operator breaks when neededOperate machine when needed and availableClean hoppers, loaders, and filters when requiredPlace purging in purge buckets dailyVacuum machine beds dailyClean up oil spills or leaksAssist with preventative maintenance on tools.Train operators and make sure they are comfortable in their duties before leaving the machineThoroughly wipe down and clean machines, weeklyOrganize molding supply cabinetsBackup supervisors during absencesUtilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.Responsible to maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.'s owned by your position.Review of all procedures related to your job per "HR LG 01 Training Matrix"Completion within time stated of all training required by Job Description in "HR LG 01 Training Matrix"Perform other duties as assigned.Regular and punctual attendance.Follow all Company policies and procedures.Note: This is not an inclusive list of duties and responsibilities

High school diploma or equivalentThorough knowledge of plastic and/or molding processesKnowledge of mold construction and componentsKnowledge of properties of common injection moldable resinsWORK ENVIRONMENT:

The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sit or stand as needed.Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.Proper lifting techniques required.Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
