Location: Cherokee County Health Department in Woodstock, GA.Job Responsibilities

Under supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nursing protocols, policies and/or procedures.

Provides services within but not limited to Adult Health, Children's Health, Immunizations, Family Planning, and Women's Health.Completes all orientation and training for new public health nurses.Provides vaccines to all age groups.Participates in drills and exercises related to emergency preparedness and yearly flu clinics.Participates in the planning, organizing, and evaluation of programs to insure. deliverables are met in accordance with program objectives.Provides comprehensive physical assessments for all ages and clinical programs.Serves as a patient advocate and refers patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated.Utilizes electronic medical records to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement.Administer and dispense medications and vaccines based on nursing assessments and according to established nursing protocols.Provides education to clients, families, and community partners.Assists with completing monthly/quarterly reports.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND Completion of a PHN course within One year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Note: No experience required.

Preferred Qualification:

Public Health experience.

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.

All positions require criminal history record check. Required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position. Some positions require pre-employment drug testing in which the applicant who is offered the position will be required to successfully complete.
