Full time Phlebotomist, schedule is 7:30a-4:00p Monday-Friday. Travel to other sites may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs venipuncture following infection control processesMaintains knowledge of all routine container and minimum volumes required for specimen collectionIdentifies and labels specimensCollect and verify demographic informationUpdate insurance information as neededVerify eligibility and flag appointment accordinglyConduct outreach to patients requiring appointments; contact patients who, "no show,"Scan and index documents into the EHRManage patients according to approved protocols and consistent with appointment and scheduling guidelinesCarry out standing orders consistent with practice policies and proceduresDocument all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR)Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits on behalf of patientsIn coordination with Regional Nurse Managers, maintain oversight of temperature monitoringAssist care team to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamworkProvide attention to patients in a manner that builds confidence, trust and loyaltyDemonstrate respect for patients and ProHealth staff by presenting a friendly, courteous manner at all times and maintaining patient confidentialityMaintain open lines of communications with care team and Regional Management teamMaintain knowledge of current coding, OSHA and CLIA regulations and company policiesAdhere to all patient safety initiatives and infection control regulationsPerforms all other related duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GEDNational certification or registration as PhlebotomistPreferred Qualifications:

1+ years of phlebotomy experienceExperience working with EpicKnowledge of medical terminologyKnowledge of ICD - 10 and CPT coding

Connecticut Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
