Who You'll Work With:
The candidate will work within the Fixed Income Risk Management function and will be primarily responsible for implementing the firm's error management and operational risk framework within the Fixed Income Taxable SBU at AB. The candidate will partner with the areas involved to help them document and correct the error, identify the contributing process weaknesses, and agree on improvements to support our firm's program of continuous improvement and risk reduction. The immediate focus of this role is error correction and reporting. There is also significant emphasis on the identification, escalation, mitigation and prevention of further exposures. This position will report to the Direct of Fixed Income Risk Management.
What You'll Do:Actively manage the error/incident resolution process objectively and in a timely manner for Fixed Income Taxable business unit which involves:Performing the role of primary error coordinator objectively and in timely mannerPartner with portfolio managers, associate portfolio managers and Trading to cover market exposure due to trading or client account errorsCommunicating risk events to stakeholders including senior managementPartner with teams across AB to perform error root cause analysisLiaise with Client Servicing group regarding the impact to client accounts and with Fund Administration group regarding the impact to funds and establishing necessary levels of communicationAssist business and risk management with the development of remediation effortsWork with senior risk management professionals to highlight significant areas of concern and required action.Collaborating with the offshore error coordinators to ensure any financial impact is reimbursed in a timely manner and that all risk events are fully documentedCollaborating with the firm-wide error coordinators to develop and share best practices
Supporting the Risk Manager in error trend analysis and other operational risk projects which involves:
Collaborating with firm-wide error coordinators to share best practicesIdentifying and monitoring Key Risk IndicatorsLead projects to facilitate the implementation of risk mitigationsAssist in periodic reviews of Risk Maps with business partnersParticipating in, and leading, various working groups and forums focused on managing operational riskStreamline internal reportingJoin Industry Forums
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance or economics2-5 years relevant work experience, preferably with operational risk or process managementStrong project management skillsHighly analytical with a strong attention to detailSuperior communication and interpersonal skills to elicit consensus from senior managers in the firmSelf-starter with the ability to work both independently and in groupsIntermediate level understanding of the financial marketsAdvanced Excel/Powerpoint / Power BI skills
