This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.First Citizens Energy Finance leverages its deep industry knowledge and expertise to offer comprehensive financing solutions for renewable and conventional power generation. The unit manages a large, diverse portfolio that includes investments in all asset classes across the energy sector. In H1 2023, it was ranked #4 in US Power and Energy Project Finance by Power Finance & Risk, a top publication covering the energy project finance industry.
Responsibilities
Analyze detailed financial models prepared by clients to evaluate lending opportunitiesPrepare debt sizing models and sensitivitiesConduct due diligence and prepare Q&A logs for potential lending opportunitiesReview consultant reports from independent engineers, insurance consultants, appraisal, and power market consultantsPrepare internal credit memosPrepare marketing materials for potential clients and lendersStay up to date with industry trends and power marketsTrain junior team members on modeling and other job responsibilities
Qualifications
Sr AnalystRequired ExperienceA Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis or a High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.Preferred ExperienceBachelor's degree preferably in a quantitative field1 year of experience in project finance at a bank, renewable energy company, consulting firm, or renewables focused private equity or private credit fundFormal credit trainingStrong analytical and quantitative skillsStrong financial modeling skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of tax equity and debt structures used in the renewable spaceStrong attention to detail and very organizedStrong time management skillsSelf-starter and naturally inquisitiveTakes pride in work productTeam-playerAssociateRequired ExperienceA Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis or a High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.Preferred ExperienceBachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative field2 years of experience in project finance at a bank, renewable energy company, consulting firm, or renewables focused private equity or private credit fundStrong analytical and quantitative skillsOutstanding financial modeling skillsStrong written and oral communication skills, including comfort interacting with clients and consultantsKnowledge of tax equity and debt structures used in the renewable spaceStrong attention to detail and very organizedStrong time management skillsSelf-starter and naturally inquisitiveTakes pride in work productTeam-playerThe base pay for the Sr Analyst position is generally between $95,000 and $110,000. The base pay for the Associate position is generally between $110,000 and $135,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
