What Will You Be Doing?
The Internal Audit Intern will work with experienced audit professionals on financial, operational, and internal controls compliance assignment. The intern will gain experience throughout Internal Audit through assigned project work and on the job training. This internship is for Spring 2025, January 13 - May 23, based in Denver, CO.
Essential Functions
Prepare documentation supporting the company's internal control environmentEvaluate and assess design and operating effectiveness of the company's internal control environment and document results;Identify and discuss audit findings with internal team and document reportable issues and associated risk exposure;Provide support to management in maintaining efficient and effective internal controls inclusive of working with process owners to remediate findings;Build and maintain relationships with business partners and key stakeholdersParticipate in other company initiatives/projects including process audits and compliance initiatives as necessaryQualifications
Must be available to work full-time for 4 monthsCurrently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institutionCompleted a minimum 2 years in post-secondary educationMajor in Accounting or related fieldKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skillsQuantitative, analytical, communication and leadership skillsBasic understanding of one or more of the following: application controls, IT general controls, financial reporting concepts and the internal and/or external audit processAbility to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently and take initiative on assigned projectsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong verbal and communication skillsA positive attitude towards learning and a strong aptitude to contribute to the teamMust have the demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
