Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Cardiothoracic ICU Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: - ADN or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Preferred: - BSN from an accredited school of Nursing Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process.- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.- Attend education programs based on identified learning needs.- Use patient education materials relevant to patient population.- Assess readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers.- Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance in revision of care plans as needed.- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.- Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.- Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan.- Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in evaluation of patient care.- Develop professional goals and participate in unit performance improvement activities.- Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.- Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update the care plan.- Address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care.- Read relevant journals and bring new ideas to the staff for assessment. This position requires effective communication, leadership skills, and knowledge of healthcare policies to promote a safe and efficient hospital environment.
