As a Tax Manager - Opportunity Zone Specialization, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Assist clients with large capital gains in structuring their Opportunity Zone Funds and Opportunity Zone Businesses for maximum deferral and operating efficiencyBuild technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities, and applies them to client situationsDevelop and maintain strong client relationship with key stakeholders and prospective clientsMonitor federal and state legislationAssist with OZ-related articles and technical presentationsWork closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and tax planningProvide high-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and as it pertains to the federal Opportunity Zone programResponsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelinesProvide job status updates to partners and client personnel in a timely mannerOversee planning and scheduling of client engagementsSupervise expectations of engagement teams, project manager and maintain due datesResearch technical and complex tax issuesManage, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Seniors and StaffEffectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation softwareDevelop strong relationships with firm professionals and clientsAttend networking events and participate in staff and senior level trainings, recruiting events and firm activitiesEnsure high quality of work product>

To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:

5+ years of experience depending on relevant work experienceBachelor's degree; Master's Degree in Taxation a plusA licensed CPA or Enrolled AgentProficient knowledge Subchapter K and handling complex partnership returnsSome exposure to the federal Opportunity Zone program is a plusDemonstrated management, analytical, problem solving, and communication skillsHigh emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and resolve operational issuesCan learn, teach, and supervise in a fast-paced environment and is receptive to feedback and coachingAbility to identify and propose resolutions to complex tax issuesHas a high level of attention to detailHas a positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spiritAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsProficiency in Thomas Reuters, GoSystem, ProSystems or equivalent is preferredYou Matter - HCVT provides a variety of benefits and perks that help sustain a healthy and thriving work environment.
