Job Description:

This position will support AWG's financial reporting area in various aspects related to the company's subsidiaries including researching and resolving accounting issues, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, accurately preparing and processing weekly and period end journal entries and reports, monitoring and reviewing balance sheet activity, completing account reconciliations. This position will assist with the day-to-day activities of the Fixed Asset/Lease Senior Accountant. This position will be required to work closely with other areas in the company including AWG Support Center department heads and subsidiary personnel.

Position Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and process journal entries, reporting, variance analysis, and account reconciliations. Ensure financial information is consistently and accurately reported in accordance with GAAP.Monitor assigned subsidiary financials. Understand and be able to explain financial inputs and causes of variances. Review vouchers and expense reports for approval in accordance with Company policy.Assist with budgeting and forecasting.Perform accounting functions related to TIF/CIDs, CIP, leases, and purchasing and/or selling properties.Assist Fixed Asset/Lease Senior Accountant in day-to-day duties including asset disposals, tracking and paying real estate and personal property tax, tracking leases within Lease Query database for ASC842 compliance and reporting, preparing and processing standard journal entries related to fixed assets and leases, and preparing fleet compliance filingsCross-train within the department to gain a well-rounded knowledge of each role and be able to act as backup for other team membersAssist the department manager and senior accountant in providing support and assistance.Other duties and projects as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in AccountingExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work independently.Effective verbal & written communication skills.High-level proficiency in Excel with knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentAbility to grow and advance with the company; openness to relocation with advancement a plus
