Description

Serve as initial point of contact for the 2 academic departments of Computer Science and Criminal Justice & Sociology. The successful candidate will maintain appointment schedules for faculty and adjuncts, hire, train and supervise work-study students, coordinate and maintain bookkeeping system for invoicing and payments, maintain office supply inventory; place orders in a timely fashion, arrange for equipment maintenance/repair as needed, interface with other departmental offices on campus, maintain up-to date files and forms for use by both department chairpersons, ensure appropriate confidentiality measures are maintained, arrange and organize visits from prospective job candidates, arrange and organize special events.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet visitors and point them in the right direction, answer inquiries, and create a welcoming environment,assist with scheduling events for faculty and adjuncts,distribute incoming mail and messages,maintain office supply inventory; place orders in a timely fashion,arrange for equipment maintenance/repair as needed,interface with other departmental offices on campus,maintain up-to date files and forms for use by the department and assist in the preparation of reports,maintain up-to date alumni contact list,ensure appropriate confidentiality measures are maintained,recruit, hire, train and supervise work-study students,arrange and organize visits from prospective job candidates,arrange and organize special events, such as Research Seminars, Alumni Events, Information Session, etc., which includes food orders, room reservations and set up, andrespond to departments administrative needs as they may emerge over time,assist the department chairs with their responsibilities as needed.Qualifications
