Alta Risk, LLC is looking for an Assistant Underwriter for their company headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. The primary responsibility of the Assistant Underwriter is to provide support to the new/renewal underwriters. This includes managing the binding, billing, and policy issuance process as well as providing superior services to all of Alta Risk's new and existing policyholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
* Binding: Ensure all required information, including the final quotes and checklists are received and uploaded into management system and prepare and issue binders/invoices that match final quotes within 24 hours.* Subjectivities: Maintain and service the underwriting file to ensure all required underwriting information is received and administer timely follow-ups to brokers for subjectivities required.* Policy Issuance: Order policies to be typed after binder completion and provide timely responses to Issuance Teams' questions for issuance to brokers.* Endorsements: Review and send requests to Issuance Team within 24 hours.* Notice of Cancellations: Order timely Notice of Cancellations for accounts who fail to provide required subjectivities and/or underlying policy requirements.* Other projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
* Full understanding and application of concepts, practices and procedures related to insurance, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
NECESSARY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
* Ability to interact/develop relationships at all levels both internally and externally* Manage strict details* Handle multiple tasks* Proficient computer knowledge including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office* Verbal/written communication skills and math skills* Ability to resolve moderately complex problems* Organize tasks effectively* Heavy word processing/keying required* Work is performed under immediate to general supervision, following well-defined instructions, policies, and procedures
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
* Frequently uses PC and/or computer terminal* Frequently uses telephone and/or headset* Sits for long periods* May bend, twist and /or stoop* May kneel, crouch and/or crawl* May occasionally reach, push and/or pull with arms* Frequently uses hands to handle, finger and/or feel* Frequently operates office equipment* Moves throughout the department/facility* Lifts/moves items weighing up to 25 lbs.
