Job Responsibilities:Enter new and renewal submissions timely and accurately. Prepare and draft quote, binder, invoice, and surplus lines affidavit documents according to underwriter instructions in underwriting system (and manually, as needed). Maintain tracking logs and spreadsheets such as submission logs, bound accounts, renewals, subjectivities, and special situations. Maintain renewal log and own renewal process by tracking each step of renewal process and follow ups at each stage (soliciting submission through quoting, binding, and issuance). Prepare and send loss runs upon request. File documents such as approvals, subjectivities, additional information, etc. in all systems according to underwriter instructions. Prepare policies for underwriter review and issuance. Assist Commercial staff with marketing and business development efforts. Assist with program business, especially data and reporting and as assigned. NYC office management/administration as needed. Assist in liaising with Vault operational groups on behalf of Commercial (claims, licensing, a/p and a/r, etc.) Prepare underwriting worksheets, and in some cases, rating for underwriter review and approval, as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or commensurate relevant experience preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a commercial property/casualty underwriting or technical assistant. Large account financial lines experience is a plus! Strong, demonstrated organizational capabilities and attention to detail. Customer-service focus, responsiveness, and integrity in internal and external interactions. Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with Microsoft productivity tools. Advanced Excel skills are a plus! Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills (both written and verbal). Must strive to provide service levels that exceed industry standards and demonstrate teamwork across functional areas. Team player and collaborative by nature. Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
