Special Risk Underwriters (SRU)

is one of the largest underwriting groups within the Amwins Underwriting Division. SRU is a delegated underwriting group specializing in commercial catastrophic property insurance, servicing Amwins property brokers exclusively. As the managing general agent (MGA), we are focused on returning profit to our insurance carriers through disciplined underwriting, conservative portfolio management, and strategic partnership with both international and domestic insurance carriers. Since its inception in 2008, SRU has grown to become one of the premiere E&S property MGAs with gross written premium expected to reach ~$550M by EOY 2023 coupled with a 16-year track of returning profit to its carrier partners.

Summary of Amwins' SRU Internship Program

The goal of our summer internship program is to expose college students to commercial property underwriting while giving students the opportunity to learn more about the excess and surplus lines insurance industry.

Required:

Enrolled at an accredited college or universityPursuing a Business degree or a related programRecommended GPA of 3.0 or above
