The Senior Financial Reporting & Accounting Analyst is responsible for planning, coordination and execution of external U.S. GAAP reporting, including the completion of 8-Ks, 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 11-Ks and press releases.

Maintain and prepare or review supporting documentation related to SEC filings, management reporting and quarterly financial analysisCollaborate with operational accounting, investment accounting, tax, actuarial and legal departments, among others, to populate and draft disclosures for periodic SEC filings on Form 10-Q and Form 10-KAssess applicability of US GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements, ensuring compliance of SEC filings with authoritative literature (including 8-Ks, 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 11-Ks and press releases)Prepare quarterly and annual XBRL filings to accompany 10-Qs and 10-KsMonitor compliance with and changes in XBRL reporting requirementsRespond to ad hoc requests from management for financial information required for decision-making and analysisProvide assistance with researching accounting guidance for unusual transactions and summarize findingsProvide assistance with the implementation of new accounting and reporting guidance. This includes working closely with other departments impacted by new guidance, documenting a position or policy, ensuring the guidance is implemented appropriately and incorporating the required disclosures into our quarterly and annual SEC filingsAssist legal department in the preparation of registration statements for debt and equity offerings by providing or reviewing any financial disclosures and reviewing content for consistency with other SEC filings; assist external auditors with any related comfort letter proceduresAssist in maintaining SOX documentation and remediation of any control issues in compliance with control requirementsParticipate in the internal and external audit processWork closely with other functional areas (i.e., operational accounting & reporting, investment accounting, tax, treasury) to resolve issues and support achievement of business and department goalsCollaborate with teammates and initiate ideas to identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectivenessParticipate in other strategic accounting and business projects as they arise for purpose of achieving functional goals and objectivesUS Work Authorization required. Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting requiredCertification

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensing requiredWork Experience

3 - 5 years of public accounting experience or related roleFinancial reporting; SEC reporting experience requiredExperience in the insurance industry preferredSkill Sets

Strong computer skills including a high degree of proficiency within Excel. Experience with Oracle applications preferredExperience with Workiva preferredHigh degree of flexibility and responsiveness to change in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlinesStrong research, analytical, and problem solving skillsAbility to work successfully both in teams and independentlyWho we are:
