Position Summary:The accountant is a key team member in the preparation, issuance, recording and monthly reporting of the HCEZ grant. This self-driven professional must possess strong critical thinking skills, be well organized, and can work well under pressure. The accountant will work closely with all SCI departments and Sinai Chicago accounting department.
Key Job Activities:
Reviews and monitors grant files and grant documentation including grant budget, financials, and other reporting ensuring compliance with SCI, System, and the requirement of AICPA standards.Support with financial reporting, month-end close process by gathering data, updating analysis reports, and recording journal entries as required for the HCEZ grantContributes to the preparation and collection of monthly and quarterly reporting, which includes vouching for the HCEZ Community partnerAssistance with year-end external/internal audit preparation by gathering supporting documents and preparing schedules for the HCEZ grantPrepare monthly grant reconciliations for the HCEZ community partners and research/resolve any reconciling items on a timely basisDaily reconciliation of cash and posting of SCI grants to the bank accounts and General LedgerResponsible for the month-end expense review of the HCEZ grant categoriesResponsible for collecting and maintaining contract files for Grant folders including HCEZPerform data entry and balancing of cash receipt record for grant reconciliation purposesPerforming other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience:•Bachelor's Degree in accounting or another similar field preferred, will consider extensive work experience in lieu of degree.
