Controller (Business and Financial Operations)

Job Summary:

General ledger accountability, P&L & Cash Flow management, SOX compliance, and financial planning. This role will oversee those activities performed by the Accounting and Finance staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness as well as exercise strong leadership skills between the Finance, Operations, and Corporate departments. This position is critical in helping drive performance improvement as the Plant Manager’s finance business partner.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Plant assets through participation in business case preparation, audit of results, and system maintenance
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reviews and forecasts to upper management
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial analyses for significant transactions, and major capital expenditure proposals
• Monitor cash flow metrics, primarily inventory related, to ensure the Plant is operating to maximize cash while meeting P&L targets. Work with Plant leadership to create solutions as needed to optimize cash flow and operating profit
• Ensure the accuracy of all transactions that are entered into the General Ledger
• Present a clear and concise review of current and projected operating results to Company leadership
• Ensure a strong set of internal controls and maintain SOX compliance
• Cooperate with Human Resources to recruit, select, and retain valuable and team-oriented candidates
• Refine and maintain the integrity of the Plant’s standard cost system
• Support other Finance and Accounting roles as necessary

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required

Years of Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance required
• 5+ years of Controller experience in a mid-sized ($100MM) manufacturing environment required
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role required

Other Requirements:

• Demonstrated successful Costing experience
• Experience with forecasting and budgeting required
• Valid driver’s license required for business travel
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities
