Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Controller for a small fast growing Biotech company located in Durham, NC 27709. This is a Direct Hire opportunity offering an excellent work culture, opportunity for growth and solid benefits.

This position will initially consist of both high-level strategy and transactional accounting responsibilities. Responsible for day-to-day financial administration across the organization. This will involve the monitoring of transactions, ensuring their proper entry, verifying the accuracy of financial records, assisting in report generation and recommending policies for improving the financial procedures and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the organization and ensuring accounting procedures and reporting meet the objectives of the organization and conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financials and close package
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Responsible for oversight of standard costing and review and manage monthly variances
  • Coordinate the provision of information for our yearly external faudit
  • Responsible for reporting all banking requirements and monitoring cash
  • Prepare and distribute monthly cost center statements
  • Assist with annual insurance renewal and report any policy requirements
  • Process, Review and Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable positions
  • Financial Modeling; Cash Flow Management
  • Produce Ad Hoc reporting as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with solid knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Biotech or startup tech experience desired
  • Seeking high energy “roll up your sleeves” mentality
