With nearly 2,000 team members around the world, and a rich legacy spanning more than 70 years, Versar Global Solutions delivers a broad array of planning, analysis and risk management solutions, project and program management, operations and maintenance services, and information technology applications for environmental management and remediation projects, mission critical facilities and installations, and in support of readiness and contingency operations.Who You Are:Perform surveillance of NSC production and shipbuilder deliverables to ensure contractor compliance with contract requirements and to prevent defects and/or document non-compliance for correction and preservation of government entitlement at delivery.What Youll Do:Perform Preservation and Preventive Maintenance inspections (P&PM), electrical and cable inspections, structural and welding inspections, compartment completion inspections, and witness system and hydrostatic testing as assigned.Draft Quality Deficiency Records (QDRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as required.Support QA surveillance activity associated with Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems issues, as assigned. Conduct Drawing reviews as assigned.Conduct ship checks to validate rollover trial cards. Respond to inspection call-outs within respective IPT and as assigned by the PROGC QAD.Complete data entry of inspection results. Develop and maintain a working relationship with the Shipbuilders QA staff, and Ships management (boat foreman) staff. Validate Shipbuilder Quality Management System (QMS) process compliance using assigned checklists.Provide USCG coverage of stage 2-5 testing as assigned. Provide USCG quality assurance and oversight during equipment installation, system grooming, alignment, light off, and testing. Participate in builders dock and sea trials as assigned.Provide quality assurance support in developing HM&E equipment/system Root Cause Failure Analyses.Document design, installation, and testing deficiencies through formally established USCG reporting procedures.Support program reviews as required.What Youll Bring:A minimum of six (6) years experience in quality assurance oversight in HM&E systems, obtained through journeyman craft or QA experience in the construction of U.S. Navy ships or Coast Guard Cutters.Currently hold or have ability to obtain Visual Inspection certification (VT Level II ASNT-SNTTC-1A)Currently hold or have ability to obtain NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector certification or NACE level II certification.Working knowledge of shipboard pipe fabrication, electrical systems, cable installations, and testing.Experience with military fabrication requirements (MIL-STD-22, MIL-STD-271, & MIL-STD-278) for piping systems.Experience with military and commercial installation requirements (DOD STD 2003, IEEE 45) for electrical systems and cableways.Have working knowledge of structure fabrication standard MIL-STD-1689 or ABS Steel Vessel Rules used in the construction of naval/commercial ships.Have working knowledge of paint application processes using COMDTINST M10360.3 (series), Coast Guard Coatings and Colors Manual, or Naval Ships Technical Manual (NSTM) 631.Ability to obtain Public Trust - CAC and facility access requiredSuccessful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenComply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidates start date.Location RequirementsThe position will primarily work onsite at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
