Job Details

The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. This position requires a CPA and a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices specific to the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while providing strategic insights to enhance operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

Cost Accounting: Oversee cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost analysis to support pricing and profitability decisions.

Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits to assess risk and identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making, including product profitability, capital expenditures, and operational efficiency.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting. Assist with external audits and liaise with auditors as needed.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within the accounting function to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Active CPA certification.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on the manufacturing industry.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
