Job Details

Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of the company. This role involves a blend of strategic financial management, accounting operations, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, including reviewing and reconciling accounts, and ensuring proper recording of financial transactions.

Cost Accounting: Analyze and manage cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, and budgeting for manufacturing operations.

Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support management decisions, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist with audits and implement necessary improvements.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by preparing financial projections, analyzing trends, and providing insights for strategic planning.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Team Leadership: Mentor and oversee junior accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
