Are you a seasoned Maintenance Mechanic looking for a challenging role in the Food Manufacturing industry. Our company is seeking a Permanent Maintenance Mechanic with a knack for preventative maintenance, creating work orders, and completing PMs. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring our machinery and equipment are running at peak performance to facilitate smooth and efficient production. This is a night shift position, providing an opportunity for those who prefer to work outside the traditional 9-to-5 schedule.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Conducting regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Creating and managing work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Completing PMs as part of a routine maintenance schedule.
- Reading and understanding mechanical and electrical diagrams, as well as technical repair manuals, to facilitate effective troubleshooting and repair.
- Responding swiftly to mechanical breakdowns, troubleshooting and repairing issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to production.
- Operating lifts and material handling tools as needed to perform maintenance tasks.
- Conducting visual inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Utilizing basic computer skills to manage work orders, document repairs, and maintain maintenance records.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Maintenance Technician position will have the following qualifications:
- An Associate Degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical field in an industrial or manufacturing setting; food manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
- 3+ years of packaging machinery maintenance experience
- Ability to work a night shift is essential.
- Proven experience with preventative maintenance, creating work orders, and completing PMs.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical diagrams and technical repair manuals.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Experience operating lifts and material handling tools.
- Ability to visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
