Nesco Resource, 14 time winner of the Best In Staffing Award, is looking for a packer/sorter/inspector for a reputable Columbia Station manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have experience with packing and sorting products, be looking for a temp to hire opportunity, and be able to work first shift. The starting pay is $15hour. This is a seated opportunity.

POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision, is responsible for sorting, inspecting and gaging parts per the instructions on the Material Hold Ticket and/or the visual aid.

PREREQUISITES
• Safety training including training in the importance of machine guarding and safety equipment.
• Knowledge of the lock out/tag out procedure.
• Knowledge and application of plant and environmental safety concepts.
• Support Seaway's emphasis of the team concept.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• Able to do repetitive assembly line type work.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Works closely with fellow employees to learn the methods and technical aspects of our packaging operations.
  2. Listens and follows the instructions of the Logistics Manager and Quality Department personnel.
  3. Remains flexible regarding job assignments.
  4. Operates Plex for daily operations.
  5. Sort inspect and gage parts per the instructions on the Material Hold Ticket and/or the visual aid, for up to 9 hours per day.
  6. Places defective parts in proper scrap container.
  7. At the end of each job, notifies Quality Department that the job is complete.
  8. Responsible for other activities as requested by the Logistics Manager.
  9. Makes boxes as required.
  10. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • High school degree or GED equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Lifting and transferring of a variety of material weighing up to forty pounds.
