A bit about us:

Jobot is recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced litigation paralegal for our client's firm in Midtown Manhattan. The opportunity is with a national plaintiff personal injury firm that specializes in complex mass tort personal injury matters encompassing medical malpractice, product defect, pharmaceutical, environmental and workers compensation.

The ideal candidate will have a paralegal certificate or associates degree and at least three years of civil litigation experience in personal injury law. Paralegals with prior exposure to complex matters are strongly preferred, but all candidates with commensurate backgrounds will be considered. The role will require the candidate to work closely with our attorneys to provide exceptional legal support to our clients in high value cases. Responsibilities:

Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and affidavitsConduct legal research and prepare summaries of findingsInterpret medical records and prepare medical chronologiesSchedule and coordinate depositions and other meetingsE-file documents with the court and manage electronic case filesIndex and summarize deposition transcripts and other discovery documentsPrepare trial exhibits and assist with trial preparationManage deadlines and maintain case calendarsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and expertsQualifications:

Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience OR Associates DegreeMinimum of 3 years of experience in complex personal injury mattersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in LexisNexis and other legal research toolsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFamiliarity with e-filing and electronic case management systemsAbility to interpret medical records and prepare medical chronologiesExperience drafting complaints and other legal documentsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
