Well established and reputable manufacturer in the Shreveport, La area is looking for a Purchasing Agent. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
This opportunity comes with a very competitive salary paying upto $85k plus an annual 10% bonus and relocation assistance.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs administrative activities necessary for management and all departments.
Performs general warehouse functions and outlet requisition movement.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock, receiving
office area, and storeroom.
Obtains quotations from approved and competitive sources.
Purchases production supplies from approved suppliers.
Ensures that suppliers follow Company and Supplier guidelines and standards.
Communicates purchase order discrepancies or supplier difficulties to the affected
department/or staff.
Review deliveries and orders in a timely manner with accuracy for each order.
Communicates with all staff regarding all orders and follow up on late or missed deliveries
with
Efficiency on all orders.
Resolves issues with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods.
Ensure all invoices are sent to the appropriate accounts for payment.
Assist in managing inventory levels and stock.
Assist the Parts Clerk with general data entry, invoices, and order reports.
Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience/ Certifications/ Licenses
High School Diploma (Supply Chain or Operations degree preferred).
1 to 5 years of inventory control, ordering parts, working in a warehouse environment, and
purchasing experience.
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge of purchasing concepts and applications preferred.
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good Communication skills
Safe working practices
Understanding of mechanical practices and processes
Problem solving skills
Basic Computer knowledge
