Overview
AmTrust Financial Services Inc., a multi-national property and casualty insurance holding company, is looking for an Accountant lll to join the Title Insurance Finance Team. This position will be responsible for the day-to day accounting activities for various title insurance companies and/or title agency operations. These tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following, plus other assignments when needed.
Responsibilities
Cash application as agency payments are received.
Monthly, quarterly and annual accounting for a title insurance company including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses.Accounting for internally owned title agencies including, but not limited to, journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations / eliminations and variance analyses.Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and supplemental filings for regulatory bodies.Preparation of internal and/or external audit support workpapers.Coordination with IT to automate system reports to increase the efficiency of the financial reporting process.Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS in Accounting or Finance5+ years of accounting experienceSolid understanding of accounting principles and financial statementsInsurance experience preferred, title insurance experience a plusOracle knowledge a plusStrong time management and organizational skillsSelf-motivated, quick learner, critical thinkerIntermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel a plusThis job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.
