We are seeking an
Endocrinology Physician
to join our team in New Brunswick.The Endocrinologist specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing diseases related to the endocrine system, which includes glands that produce hormones. This role focuses on conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, metabolic imbalances, and other hormone-related health issues. Saint Peter's University Hospital is a non-profit, 478-bed acute care teaching hospital sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen. Saint Peter's brings the latest medical practices and highly skilled professionals to the bedside. We employ more than 3,600 healthcare professionals and support personnel, and more than 1,000 doctors and dentists are on staff at our hospital. We treat more than 23,000 inpatients and more than 245,000 outpatients yearly.Key Responsibilities:Patient Care:Diagnose and treat disorders of the endocrine system, including diabetes, thyroid diseases, adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, and reproductive issuesConduct thorough examinations, including reviewing patient history, physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests such as blood tests, imaging, and biopsiesDevelop individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle changes, and discussing surgical options when necessaryMonitor patient progress and adjust treatments based on response and health changesEducate patients on managing chronic endocrine conditions, such as diabetes or thyroid disease, and provide guidance on hormone therapySkills and Competencies:In-depth knowledge of endocrine disorders, treatment options, and current best practicesStrong diagnostic and clinical skills, particularly in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and thyroid disordersExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients in an understandable way.Empathy and patience in dealing with patients who may be managing lifelong chronic conditionsStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple patient casesQualifications:Education and Experience:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of a residency program in internal medicineCompletion of a fellowship in endocrinologyBoard certification or eligibility in endocrinology
