A Brief Overview

The NP in the Infusion Center will be responsible for aiding in the daily clinical operations of the Infusion Center and Physician Practices flow, including the coordination, evaluation and supervision of patient care, the resolution of patient and family concerns along with the collaboration and communication with physicians.

What You Will Do

Delivers patient care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.Performs daily patient rounds.Coordinates patient care needs according to plan of care and consults with physicians at least daily or as indicated.Collaborates with all members of multidisciplinary health care teams to plan, manage, or assess patient treatments.Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests and screening procedures based on assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses or treatment changesDevelops appropriate treatment plan by orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes pharmacologic agents, and administers medications.Document data related to patients’ care including assessment findings, results, interventions and treatmentUses evidence based practice, current standards of care and research in practice. Participates in the development of practice protocols.Diagnose acute or chronic conditions that could result in rapid physiological deterioration or life-threatening instability.Discuss illnesses and treatments with patients and family members. Provides patient education and appropriate resource information.Participates on various committees as needed and appropriate.Completes assignments in a timely manner, thoroughly and appropriately detailed.Demonstrates and understands compliance with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Routinely utilizes policy and procedure manuals and other available literature/reference materials to ensure consistency and accuracy on the delivery of acute care.Clinical oversight of nursing staff and evaluation and supervision of patient care in close coordination with Operations Manager.Works in close collaboration with Cancer Center physicians and staff to ensure timely treatment of patients.Attention and resolution of patients (and families) concerns particularly related to patient care.Staff recruitment and retention responsibilities in coordination with Director and Operations Manager.Joint responsibility for nurse development, competency, and performance evaluation (with Operations Manager).Performs any related duties as assigned

Education Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in nursing Required andMasters Degree in nursing Required

Experience Qualifications

4-6 years 3-5 years NP Infusion experience Required andExperience working in an outpatient oncology setting as an NP, along with some supervisory experience. Required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Experienced NP should possess sound physical assessment skills;Has the ability to manage acute and chronic illness states, incorporating disease management including but not limited to disease lifestyle modifications, nutritional needs, pharmacotherapy, education, and evaluation of treatment plans for individual patients.
