The role provides a Monday through Friday work schedule without weekend duties, and offers a salary range from $60,000 to $65,000. We invite you to apply your experience at MPA!

As a School Social Worker, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of mental health professionals, collaborating closely with students, families, and school staff to address their unique needs and foster growth.

Your role will be pivotal in providing behavioral, emotional, and educational counseling to both groups and individuals, assisting students in adjusting to school and community life, and serving as a liaison to other agencies for our day students enrolled in Mount Prospect Academy's academic programs.

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

Collaborating with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team members regarding student progress on applied counseling goals.

Working with team members to develop and update Individualized Crisis Support Plans for each student; these will be drafted during the first week of enrollment and updated routinely based on the needs of the student.

Providing clinical support to students focusing on personal strengths and challenges and developing adaptive strategies to assist the student in achieving success, through a skills-based approach.

Writing and presenting comprehensive case conceptualizations to faculty, referrals, families and administration.

Building a positive therapeutic rapport with students and faculty, while supporting a trauma informed approach within the academic setting

Using the Restorative Justice Planning process to support students with accountability and being a positive member of the academic community

Collaborating and developing individualized plans for each student and providing documentation of student participation and behavior through daily case notes

Maintaining student files within the established protocols and policy guidelines to insure clarity, continuity and confidentiality

Coordinating contact between family, school and other invested stakeholders to ensure a best practice and holistic approach to treatment

Coordinating weekly Treatment Team meetings to monitor student growth and progress

Documenting all collateral contacts including telephone and email pertaining to treatment

Overseeing bi-weekly reports and monitoring trauma informed communication between school and external contacts, including review of data with the academic team

Providing individual and group counseling services with documentation of all treatment provided maintained in case notes and service logs completed within the MPA prescribed timelines

Attending all meetings that are focused on the identified student as needed.

Developing and maintaining community, governmental, and other public and private resources and relationships, including participating in professional organizations

Facilitating trauma trainings for all faculty as part of the yearly academic training calendar

Supporting crisis intervention within the academic setting

Providing safety assessments for SI/HI behaviors, and consulting with other clinicians as necessary

Maintaining student confidentiality and reporting all pertinent information to the academic administrators

Professionally representing Mount Prospect Academy Inc. while collaborating with external stakeholders

Following all company policies and procedures.

Continuing to research current Evidence Based Practices to support personal, professional and program development

Maintaining a lifelong learning approach to professional development, including a plan for professional licensure, maintaining certification with the NH DOE and other professional goals.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements, Education, and/or Experience:

Master's degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field required.

Licensed or in process of being licensed through the NH Department of Education and NH Board of Mental Health Practice.

NH DOE Certification in School Social Work.

Minimum 2 years' experience counseling adolescents and families.

Position requires a criminal history background check.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, occasional stooping, bending, and reaching. Ability to occasionally travel and work in noisy and crowded environments. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.
