Working Conditions:

This position works in a typical indoor office environment, occasional period of outdoor exposure at events. Travel is required to other campuses, educational sites, off-campus meetings, college fairs, training workshops, and seminars. Some overnight travel may be necessary.

Accountable for implementing and leading a comprehensive program of publications, media relations, and marketing for the college. Responsible for all credit student recruitment efforts in the defined service region of the college and management of the Thomas Welcome Center. Serves as the public information officer and primary contact for disseminating emergency communications.Essential Functions

1. Responsible for the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Plan, Enrollment Management Communication Plan, and Emergency Communications Plan for the college.

2. Responsible for credit student recruitment efforts within the college's defined service area.

3. Responsible for enrollment management by ensuring that the recruitment staff attempts all avenues to promote the college within the defined service region.

4. Responsible for advertisements and marketing campaigns (all media). Plans, schedules, and releases advertisements for courses, events, academic programs, and general promotion of the Cumberland and Bedford County campuses and other instructional sites.

5. Serves as primary contact for emergency communications, including class cancellations/closings; posts notices on the college's electronic emergency systems, website, and social media platforms for all campuses.

6. Provides support for all media relations for the Cumberland and Bedford campuses and serves as the college's Public Information Officer (PIO).

7. Provides support for all major campus observances and special events at all campuses and educational sites (e.g., anniversaries, commencement, awards ceremony, etc.).

8. Responsible for developing and maintaining budget allocation for Public Relations, Marketing/Recruitment, and Thomas Welcome Center.

9. Responsible for the College's website content and oversight of ACM's social media platforms.

10. Collaborates with Information Technology to ensure major website enhancements are completed in a timely fashion.

11. Oversees development, review, and distribution of college marketing materials and publications, including the college viewbooks and digital credit catalog.

12. Responsible for developing unit goals and objectives and unit assessment for public relations, marketing, and Thomas Welcome Center.

13. Provides representation at off-campus college recruitment opportunities, such as college and community fairs.

14. Works closely with the Admissions and Registration and Advising Center in the development, printing, and distribution of admissions and recruitment- related literature/publications designed for credit courses and programs.

15. Responsible for in-person and virtual open house events and information sessions.

16. Promotion of specialty events at the Bedford County Campus, including open houses.

17. Serves on the Enrollment Management Committee and Cumberland and Bedford County Campuses Open House committees.

18. Responsible for the development and implementation of major and new publications.

19. Provide public relations support for the ACM Foundation.

20. Works with the Director of Design, Print, and Mail Services to coordinate off campus design and/or printing of college publications.

21. Responsible for overseeing the College's prospective student texting communication system and implementation of departmental technology.

22. Responsible for coordination and editorial review of the college's Faculty & Staff newsletter and ACCESS ACM magazine.

23. Provides campus tours when needed.

24. Serves as a brand manager to implement and ensure compliance with the college's brand strategy and guidelines.

25.Responsible for oversight of the College's digital signage systems.

26. Coordinates photo and video marketing projects with eLets team.

27. Completes all other assignments directed by the Vice-President of Advancement and Community Relations.Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills

Bachelor's degree required in marketing, business, education, or a related field; A minimum of three years of experience in public relations, marketing, and other general business-related functions or related disciplines is required.

Master's degree preferred in marketing, business, education, or a related field.

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Overall knowledge of the college, its programs, and its services, as well as knowledge of course offerings to be able to market the College. Possess knowledge of marketing trends and specialized vocabulary in the various areas of responsibility: printing, publishing, public relations, advertising, emergency communications, and student recruitment. Excellent oral and written communication.
