The objective of the Customer Supply Planning team is to manage the consensus demand reconciliation, alignment across the organization including the Finance, Product, and Sales teams. This team is the subject matter expert on Supply and Demand KPIs used to communicate forecast accuracy, inventory levels, excess & obsolete, and alignment to Financial and corporate targets (budget / latest operating plan). Key to success in this role is strong engagement with business leaders, ability to challenge and understand the driver of the changes, as well as being an integral liaison point between the front-end functions (Product and Sales & Marketing) and back-end functions (Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance). The Customer Supply Planning team brings value to ResMed by ensuring we are facilitating an unconstrained consensus demand plan that balances risks and opportunities appropriately to allow the execution of profitable build plan.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Customer Supply Planning, to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, cross-functional experience, financial and business acumen, as well as transformation skills to drive our planning function forward.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the planning team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure Planning team's success.
Lead a culture of innovation and business excellence, leveraging industry best practices, supply chain technology and data analytics to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency.
Work with Global Planning Leadership team to develop capability in people and robust processes to support delivery of the End to End (E2E) Supply Chain objectives.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve demand forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, operations, logistics, finance, and other cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights to inform demand forecasts.
Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to develop accurate demand forecasts.
Drive the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, ensuring alignment between demand and supply plans.
Effectively collaborate, negotiate, and influence across supply network to ensure ResMed maintains competitive advantage and agility in changing commercial markets.
Implement supply planning processes and initiatives to optimize inventory levels.
Lead best practice Material Planning including supplier forecast management, safety stock management, purchase orders management to meet market demands efficiently.
Monitor and track forecast accuracy metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to drive collaboration and consensus on demand planning initiatives.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in demand planning, and incorporate relevant insights into our processes.
Lead and/or support transformational initiatives related to demand planning processes, systems, and tools.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on demand planning performance, trends, and initiatives.
Understand and manage scope of logistics decisions in relation to 3PP suppliers to optimize cost, accuracy and delivery lead times of 3rd party purchased goods into the distribution warehouse to meet customer demand.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
7-10+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related field, with demonstrated progression in leadership roles.
Strong leadership abilities with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Proven cross-functional experience, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a track record of successfully driving transformative initiatives.
Excellent financial and business acumen, with a deep understanding of financial metrics and their implications for demand planning.
Experience driving transformational initiatives, with a track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving change.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in demand planning tools and software, such as o9, Oracle Cloud, Demantra, or similar systems.
