Under general supervision performs duties to assist the Foundry in preparing for pouring of metal into molds. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Heats up ovens and loads molds in preparation for pouring verifying molds to the casting schedule, loading position, and verifies oven temperature and oxygen level.Cleans foundry and invest area by emptying cans and trash, vacuuming floors and equipment. Clean mold storage area. Assist with cleaning and change over of tanks in invest department.Assures proper equipment and materials are available for Foundry workers by daily filling hot top cans, restocking kaowool pads, changing crucibles as needed, load cup ovens, stage empty carts for use.Complete supply sheet and turn into supervisor. Put away supplies and maintain supply storage area.Maintain downtime logVerify ingots to pour schedule and load alloyLight Maintenance of machines, painting and other projects assigned by supervisorOther duties assigned by the supervisor or manager SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate physical effort consisting of lifting or moving up to 35 lbs of materials, scrap metals, and other additives.Continuous mental or visual attention in operating, checking, and performing other related duties.Ability to withstand high temperatures working in foundry.Demonstrates the ability to follow all safety practices and to work in a manner that safety for themselves and others.
